While Valentine’s Day is all about love in a romantic sense, Galentine’s Day is a celebration of love between female friends.  

The holiday itself is relatively new and has playful pop culture roots. Coined in 2010 by beloved Amy Poehler character, Leslie Knope, on the show “Parks and Recreation,” Galentine’s Day is all about “ladies celebrating ladies.”  

Whether you’re taken, single, navigating something complicated, or anywhere in between, as long as you’re a lady, Galentine’s Day is for you.  

Galentine’s Day is observed on February 13, so you can hype up your best girlfriends before you focus on your partner.
