Where to Find the Best Pumpkin Treats in Orlando this FallĀ
Here in Orlando, we don’t necessarily mark the coming of fall with cool temps, warm flannel jackets, and changing leaves. Instead, we love to celebrate the season of change with all things delicious and pumpkin flavored.
We’ll keep our sunny skies, beautiful palm trees, and perfect pool weather thank-you-very-much – just with a dash of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
If you’re celebrating autumn in Central Florida this year, here are a few of our favorite spots to find the best pumpkin treats in Orlando.
The Glass Knife
The Glass Knife makes some of the most exquisite pastries that artfully combine textures and flavors for uniquely indulgent desserts. Every pastry looks like its own work of art. While they have staples that you can enjoy year-round, customers are always coming back to explore their seasonal menus, and fall is no exception.
Last year’s fall menu featured delicacies like the Pumpkin Pastry, a pumpkin-shaped confection made of harmonious layers of mascarpone cream, brown butter cake, spiced caramel sauce, and smooth pumpkin mousse. One spoonful is basically all the best parts of fall in a single bite.
Some of their other fall treats have included a pumpkin croissant topped with hand-torched meringue, the Pumpkin Spice Latte Cookie, and a decadent pumpkin cheesecake worthy of the most elegant Thanksgiving table.
And those are just the pumpkin items. Their fall menu features plenty of other autumn flavor favorites like sweet potato, apple spice, caramel corn, candied caramel apple, and more.
The aesthetic at The Glass Knife is colorful upscale vintage, making it the perfect insta-worthy spot to settle in with a book, a sweet treat, and a cup of coffee. Pumpkin Cheesecake Cold Foam, anyone?
Light on the Sugar
Light on the Sugar is a family-owned bakery and coffee shop that is taking Orlando by storm. About to open their fourth Central Florida location in Waterford Lakes, their beautiful baked goods are colorful, creative, and downright delicious.
The menu is stacked with French pastries featuring Asian-inspired flavors like matcha and ube. When fall arrives, you can expect to find plenty of pumpkin scattered throughout.
In the past, their autumn creations have included specialties like the impressive Pumpkin Pie Crepe Cake, made of dozens of layers of thin crepes layered with pumpkin pie whipped cream.
Light on the Sugar is also known for their epic cream puffs, packed with boldly flavored pastry creams. In the fall, you can find the recurring pumpkin pie creampuff, designed with house-made orange choux pastry decorated to look like a jack-o-lantern. The filling is a devilishly creamy pumpkin pie whipped pastry cream. You won’t find any air in this cream puff; the inside is all filling.
Be sure to stop into one of their four locations this fall to see what other autumn inspirations they have on display. You can expect fall favorites like pumpkin spice lattes, whimsically decorated seasonal macarons, and plenty of fun Halloween and Thanksgiving-themed goodies.
Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream
Here in Orlando, our fall weather can often feel like an extension of summer. Luckily, that means ice cream is still the perfect seasonal treat.
Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream is a local, handcrafted ice cream shop that is quickly spreading throughout Central Florida. As of now, they have seven scoop shops and over two dozen counters in coffee shops, food halls, and restaurants.
Sure, their menu has classic flavors like vanilla, mint chocolate chip, and strawberry, but the more adventurous palates can take Kelly’s Original flavors like Banana Pudding, Mexican Chocolate, and Blondie for a spin.
Every month, Kelly’s releases a collection of new flavors that reflect the spirit and ingredients of the season. Come October, pumpkin usually makes an appearance on the menu.
In the past, Kelly’s has featured flavors like Pumpkin Triple Threat, which is actually a combination of sweet pumpkin ice cream, spicy gingersnap ice cream, and a tangy cheesecake ice cream. Pumpkin Spiced Latte has also made its way to the menu as pumpkin spiced coffee ice cream layered with a spiced marshmallow fluff.
Stay tuned to see what pumpkin flavors Kelly’s is releasing this fall.
Southern Hill Farms
Southern Hill Farms doesn’t just have autumn treats; they offer a full fall experience to go with your pumpkin flavors.
This farm is the ultimate seasonal destination for photo ops, family fun, and plenty of pumpkins. You’ll definitely want to stop by the airstream-turned-bakery for goodies like fresh pumpkin muffins, apple cider donuts, and even frozen apple cider.
Take your pumpkin treats to the next level by enjoying them as you stroll through a pre-picked pumpkin patch with dozens of varieties of pumpkins of all shapes and sizes. You can also wander through sunflower patches and pick your own bouquet, swing by the petting zoo, and enjoy a variety of carnival rides and food trucks for the ultimate fall afternoon.
After all, pumpkin does taste better when you fully embrace the vibes of the season.
Just keep in mind that a visit to Southern Hill Farms is a ticketed event, so you’ll want to coordinate your pumpkin cravings ahead of time and buy a ticket online.
Jeff’s Bagel Run
When you think of pumpkin and pumpkin spice flavors, your brain may go right to coffee and pastries. But Jeff’s Bagel Run is celebrating the season with sweet and savory pumpkin bagels!.
Their year-round menu is packed with classic bagel flavors like everything, garlic, onion, cinnamon raisin, and of course, plain. But Jeff’s is also a pioneer of bold bagel flavors like cacio e pepe and asiago everything.
Their spreads (cream cheese, schmear, whatever you like to call it) are next level with creativity, too. Try the banana pudding, cake batter, cannoli, or hot sauce for an extra special twist on breakfast.
In the fall, pumpkin flavors take their rightful place on the menu. In past years, Jeff’s Bagel Run has released a special pumpkin bagel with just the right amount of autumn in every bite. It’s typically accompanied by a limited-edition pumpkin spice cream cheese made with all of the cozy fall spices you know and love.
Their coffee menu will also feature delicious pumpkin spice offerings that are the perfect pick-me-up pairing to go with your pumpkin-flavored order.
Craft and Common
You could say that the Pumpkin Spice Latte is where the pumpkin spiced mania began. The release of this signature beverage unofficially marks the beginning of the autumn season in all of its cozy, spiced glory.
While Pumpkin Spice Lattes, or PSLs, are often associated with a certain behemoth coffee chain, there are plenty of unique coffee shops that are putting their artisanal spin on this brewed seasonal favorite.
Located in downtown Orlando, Craft and Common is a bright and beautiful coffee shop known for its approachable coffee and thoughtfully sourced menu items. It’s a wonderful woman-owned spot to enjoy something cozily crafted or refreshingly iced. Enjoy your coffee on its own or pair it with one of their artfully crafted menu items.
Of course, in the fall, Craft and Common embraces the PSL craze and releases their own perfect version of the Pumpkin Spice Latte. You can pair it with a pumpkin baked good sourced from local bakeries for an extra special treat.
RockPit Brewing
If you love to sip your fall flavors but maybe not in your coffee, perhaps a hearty pumpkin ale is more your style. At RockPit Brewing, you’ll find delicious small-batch beers and cocktails served by a fun and friendly team.
In the fall, they typically release a pumpkin beer packed with real pumpkin flavor. Past fall brews have included What the Fluff?, an ale brewed with pumpkin puree, pumpkin spices, and marshmallow. Described as “pumpkin pie in a glass,” this rich, fall-flavored treat is a love letter to the flavors of autumn.
The RockPit Brewing cocktail menu has also been known to feature pumpkin-inspired drinks, including the sinfully rich Pumpkin Pie Martini.
Of course, pumpkin isn’t the only fall flavor on the menu; check out their house-made apple pie moonshine or cocktails made with tart cranberries and fresh apple cider.
You can also find a full menu of German-inspired beers in the fall that are perfect for any Oktoberfest celebration.
Universal Orlando’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter
There’s just something about Harry Potter that exudes fall energy. Maybe it’s all the talk of witches, wizards, and werewolves or the slightly spooky undertones that seem to build with every story. Or maybe it’s all the talk of pumpkin treats throughout the books!.
When you visit Universal Orlando’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter, you’ll be able to try a variety of pumpkin treats that have jumped from the page and straight into the real world.
Pumpkin juice is a sweet, flavorful pumpkin-cinnamon-apple concoction that gives intense autumn vibes (despite being available year-round.). You can also try a Pumpkin Fizz, which is a carbonated and slightly less sweet version of pumpkin juice.
In Honeydukes, the candy shop in the quaint village of Hogsmeade (located in Universal’s Islands of Adventure), you can order a delectable Pumpkin Pasty, a fresh, flaky pastry with a yummy pumpkin filling.
In the fall, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter also sells warm butterbeer for a cozy take on a fizzy classic, as well as autumnal (and alcoholic) apple and pear ciders for guests over the age of 21.
